How to standardize the use of steel adhesive? The process of mixing and applying is not small!

I. Configuration and Stirring of the Colloid


Firstly, the configuration and stirring of the colloid are the prerequisites for using the steel-bonding adhesive.      The ratio of the main agent to the curing agent must be strictly followed, carefully read the product manual, and then put the correct proportion of the steel-bonding adhesive into the container and stir evenly with a stirring tool.      During the stirring, prevent air from entering to avoid generating bubbles.

It should be noted that the steel-bonding adhesive should be prepared and used immediately.      The un-mixed components should be re-sealed and packaged for storage to avoid waste.      In addition, the prepared steel-bonding adhesive should be used within the operable time to ensure the performance of the colloid.      The steel-bonding adhesive that exceeds the specified applicable period should not be used again to avoid affecting the reinforcement effect.

II.      Standardized Smearing of the Steel-Bonding Adhesive


Secondly, when smearing the steel-bonding adhesive, the stirred colloid solution should be brushed simultaneously on the surface of the steel plate and the concrete substrate.      Check for any missed or insufficient brushing areas.      After confirming that the brushing is in place, then paste the steel plate.

The thickness of the brushed colloid layer is generally 2 mm, and the smearing form is usually thick in the middle and thin on both sides.      When it is necessary to paste horizontally, vertically or upside down, the sagging degree of the colloid should meet the corresponding requirements respectively.

III.      Correct Use of the Steel-Bonding Adhesive


Furthermore, when using the steel-bonding adhesive, the standards and rules for safe use should also be strictly followed.      For example, seal and store the raw materials for configuring the steel-bonding adhesive away from the fire source;      ensure good ventilation in the construction site;      keep the construction environment clean and dry;      operators should wear work clothes and protective gloves.      If it accidentally gets on the skin, it can be cleaned with acetone or alcohol.      If it gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with a large amount of water and seek medical attention.

IV. Construction Process Flow of the Steel-Bonding Adhesive:


Substrate treatment → Positioning and drilling → Steel plate treatment →


Configuration of the steel-bonding adhesive and brushing → Pasting the steel plate and fixation → Standing and curing


Substrate surface treatment: The concrete surface should be chiseled to remove paint, grease, and dust, and then polished with a angle grinder for 1-2mm thick.      After polishing, the surface should be cleaned with compressed air.      Finally, the surface should be cleaned with acetone cotton cloth, and the adhesive surface should be completely dry for later use.


Positioning and drilling: According to the construction requirements, release the position line for pasting the steel plate, determine the drilling specification of the planting bolts, and drill holes at the corresponding positions of the steel plate according to the distribution of the planting bolts.


Planting bolts and steel plates: Plant anchor bolts as required, derust and roughen the steel surface as required, and polish the metallic luster with a grinding wheel grinder.      The rougher the grinding, the better.      The grinding lines should be perpendicular to the force direction of the steel, and then wipe it clean with cotton silk dipped in acetone.      Stand by after it is completely dry.


Mixing and smearing the adhesive: When stirring the colloid, it is best to stir in the same direction, try to avoid mixing with air to form bubbles, and keep good ventilation at the configuration place.      After the steel colloid is prepared, smear it on the treated steel plate or concrete surface with an oil knife.      The cross-section of the adhesive should be triangular, about 3mm in the middle and about 1mm thick at the edge.

Pasting the steel plate: Nowadays, for the construction of pasting steel plates, the old method of supporting is mostly not used, but bolt pressure fixation is used. Or for other needs, holes should be drilled on the concrete components and the steel plates.

Standing and curing: After cleaning the remaining adhesive, brush a layer of anti-rust paint on the original steel plate surface. After it is dry, brush the second layer of anti-rust paint. If there is a fire protection requirement, the fire protection material should also be brushed on the surface as required.
